🎾 HAWKE’S BAY COMMUNITY PROJECT

Could Hawke’s Bay
have its own
padel club?

We’re exploring the possibility of creating a dedicated padel club
for Hastings, Havelock North, Napier and the wider Hawke’s Bay community.

Before investing in courts or facilities, we want to hear from the people
who would actually use it.

Feasibility stage · No final location or opening date has been confirmed.

how the game works and why it is growing so quickly around the world.

01 · Introduction

What is padel?

Padel is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash.
It is normally played as doubles on an enclosed court.

The walls are part of the game, which creates longer rallies
and makes padel accessible even to people with little racquet-sport experience.

02 · Learn the basics

How do you play?

The scoring system is similar to tennis, but padel has its own
style of movement, positioning and use of the walls.

You can start enjoying the sport quickly, while still having plenty
of room to improve your technique and strategy over time.
